Flipping through some Dick's Picks liner notes, I see "Latvala!" written in some prominent places in pictures. For example:

In the DP 29 notes of 5-19-77, there is a picture of the outside of the Fox Theatre, and on the marque sign under the Grateful Dead is "Latvala!"

On the back of the liner notes of DP 33, there is a microphone stand that has "Latvala!" written across the spreader.

I wasn't going to shows in the 70's, in fact they really sucked in 1977. But was his name all over the place like that, was he that revered back then? Or is this all photoshop fun in remembrance of the great Dick Latvala?

Latvala! is the cry of those who realized that Dick led the way for live releases though his tireless crusades. We should all cry "Latvala!" everytime we pick up a DP--and often when we download a concert from the internet.

Thanks, Dick.

Sir, I'd like to try that, if I may? Here goes:

Did I do it? Did I get it right?
